About Me.

Bro.  Monaleto C. Irby is a native of Demopolis, Al.    He received an athletic Scholarship (Football-1993) to Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Social Work in the Fall 1997.   Irby became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. on April 9, 1996, through the Pi Kappa Chapter at Jacksonville State.  A proud 27-year Member, Bro. Irby served as Chapter President of

Pi Kappa from Fall 1996- Fall 1997.  He was also a Senator with the SGA, and a

member of the Gospel Choir. While at Jacksonville State Irby was crowned Mr.

Black JSU and Mister University both in the Spring of 1997. He was invested in

the campus community as a leader.  Bro. Irby served as the advisor to the Pi

Kappa Chapter after graduation while a member of the Zeta Mu Sigma Alumni

Chapter Anniston, Ala.  He has also served as secretary and President of the

Zeta Mu Sigma Chapter.  Bro. Irby was elected Alabama State Director of

Collegiate Affairs 2006-2008.

Bro. Irby is a member of the Xi Chi Sigma Chapter in Atlanta where he served as 1st Vice Director for 6 (2017-2023) years.  Bro. Irby was appointed the State Director of Sigma Beta Clubs in 2015 where he served until 2017.  Bro. Irby was then elected Georgia 1st Vice State Director in 2017 and served until 2019 where he was then elected Georgia State Director(2019-2023).  Bro. Irby recently completed a 4-year term as Georgia State Director.  Under Bro. Irby’s administration, the state saw an increase in Brotherhood Programs to include the start of the Georgia Brotherhood Tailgate, Blue Boots on the Ground -Voter initiative Engagement (that saw the State of Georgia turn Blue during the Presidential elections), and Collegiate Stroll off Competitions. In 2021 after working diligently with the State Executive Board, the State of Georgia created a 501c3 “The Good Trouble Foundation, LLC.” 

Bro. Irby was inducted into the Outstanding Sigmas of the Southern Region (highest honor in the Region) in 2018 at the Regional Conference Atlanta.  Irby was appointed as the International Liaison for American Cancer Society in 2021 by the then new International Director of Social Action.

 

Bro. Irby began working with at risk youth and their families 11 days after graduating JSU at the local Mental Health Center in the Children Services Department in Anniston, Alabama. 

Irby has spent over 25 yrs. working with children and their families holding several positions throughout the years as Case Manager, Counselor, Program Manager, Director, Probation Officer, and Regional Training Coordinator, and Training Program Manager.  He is currently employed with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice in his 15th year, where he was recently promoted to Deputy Director of the Office of Professional Development February 1st.  In May he earned his Master Training Certification through the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council

Irby fulfilled a lifelong dream in May of 2020 during the pandemic, after several years of procrastination

SEVERAL YEARS and started his own business MCI Motivated Intervention Solutions, LLC; focused on

Leadership and Staff Development Training.

Bro. Irby is a member of New Vision Christian Church in Morow, where he serves on the

Praise and Worship Team and the Coordinator of the Circle of Son Mentoring Ministry.

 

Irby is married to Charlisa Irby and has one adult daughter Kaelyn Irby.
